Local Outreach

One of the primary reasons that the church exists is to unleash compassion upon those in need. To that end we offer ongoing opportunities for those who call Victor Valley home to act as the messengers of God's tremendous love for those in need.
Locally, this compassion for lost people is manifested through the Open Arms Ministry which makes and delivers sandwiches to homeless persons around the High Desert. This group meets Saturday mornings at 8 am on the Victor Valley campus and always welcome new people coming to help serve the homeless of our community.

Victor Valley also operates a Food Room that is open on the last Friday of each month. On these Fridays, food is available to those in need from 3 to 4:30 pm. Those in need of food are asked to bring a valid photo ID and be a resident of the High Desert.
Victor Valley also financially supports the work of the Victor Valley Rescue Mission as it seeks to offer refuge, recovery, and restoration to those in need.

![]() John Owour is a native-born Kenyan pastor serving the community of Migori, Kenya. John serves as pastor of Upper Hill Christian Church and oversees the rural branches that have sprung off from that congregation. Through Victor Valley's partnership with John, Victor Valley had the opportunity in 2014 to partner with Upper Hill Christian Church to launch Hope for Migori. This enterprise exists to provide for the needs of orphans in Migori, Kenya, most of whom have lost their parents to AIDS by providing the resources necessary to enable caretakers to bring these orphans into their homes; supplying food, clothing and other living necessities, as well as allowing for these orphans to attend school. To learn more, visit Hope for Migori's website and find out how you can sponsor a child.
