FORGE MEN's MINISTRY

VVCC's Forge Men's Ministry exists to transform men into a biblical model of manhood and lead them to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ by focusing on three key areas:

COMMITMENT to CHRIST: Commitment to Christ means absolute surrender to the Lord's will, presence, and guidance. Men must die to self, study the Bible, and pray like a man to truly become men of God.  

• "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)

BROTHERHOOD: Encouragement and accountability between Christian brothers provides an essential tool for growth and discipleship. No man is an island. No warrior succeeds alone, as the Bible says in proverbs 27:17, "as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." 

• "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." James 5:16 (NIV)

ACTION PLAN: Following Jesus requires a response. This means a key step in discipleship includes a plan for action. We need to have a plan to grow individually in Christ and a plan to serve in the Lord's Kingdom. 

• "...make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." 2Peter 1:5-8 (NIV)
